Lasik, Cataract and Glaucoma Treatment in Singapore

We can arrange for Vision correction, including LASIK, Cataract & Glaucoma treatment.

Laser in Medicine: Lasers have become the method of choice for the treatment of many skin conditions. It is also used for aesthetic improvement of the skin that results from aging, sun exposure and congenital conditions such as birthmarks or pigmentation and mole. Lasers can be used effectively for the removal of tattoos. The treatments are generally pain free and often scheduled over one to three sessions to achive the desired effects. Our physician who is specialised in laser treatments evaluates the patient and skin conditions. Each treatment lasts between 30 to 60 minutes.

Photorefractive Keratectomy (PRK)
PRK is the older form of laser refractive surgery. This procedure removes the outer layer of cornea skin (the cornea epithelium) and a laser shapes the exposed surface to correct the refractuve error. To a large extent, it has been superceded by LASIK.

Laser Assisted In-situ Keratomileusis (LASIK)
This advanced form of standard LASIK takes into account the minor imperfections that all of our eyes possess which are unique to each of us. Wavefront technology detects and analyses these imperfections and maps them. The computer then proceeds to assist the surgeon in correcting not only the refractive errors, but the minor optical imperfections as well.

Surgery
Before surgery, our consultants will conduct a comprehensive eye examination, including refraction and computerized corneal mapping. Avoid wearing contact lenses for at least two weeks before going for the pre-operative consultation. The LASIK session itself will only take about 10 minutes without the need for any injections. Anaesthetic is administered with the use of eyedrops.
